The nation’s largest Telco Telstra has strengthened its focus on the Android mobile phone platform. It reveals its plan to launch the LG’s Optimus handset into the local market tomorrow.
With Google Android powered smart phones growing in popularity, the LG Optimus provide the users with an ultra affordable way to get in to the action, states Rose Fielding the Telstra executive director of mobility products, in a statement issued by the big T this afternoon.
The handset runs legacy of 1.6 version of the Android platform. But it can be upgraded to 2.1 and the set comes bundled with a 2 GB micro SD memory card. It can also support up to 32 GB of micro SD storage. The Optimus supports the speed of 7.2 Mbps on Telstra’s Next G Network. The phone will be available on Telstra’s for $ 49 cap plan on a 24 month contract or can be purchased for a retail price of $ 504.
