Google has big plans for its music service efforts after acquiring music-streaming service Simplified Media. Rumors report that the search company plans on launching a music service in conjuction with the release of Android 3.0 in the fourth quarter of this year. After rumors of Apple’s plan to launch its own streaming service as a result of its Lala acquisition, it looks like Google doesn’t want to fall too far behind its mobile competitor.

We knew it would be coming soon, but hearing that the Motorola Droid could be getting the Android 2.2 (Froyo) update in a matter of weeks is quite a surprise. The Motorola Droid is said to get Android 2.2 update possibly as soon as the 13th of this month. But don’t get too excited just yet.

The Verizon HTC Droid Incredible, if you can get your hands on it , is one nice device. But it lacks on feature that many smartphones are now shipping with, and that’s recording video in 720p. That may all change soon, as it looks like HD video recording and Android 2.2 OS (Froyo) could be on its way to the Incredible via an OTA update

We’ve always known that HTC’s DROID Incredible was a hot handset, but this news might be pushing it a bit. An Android Central forum member named tyler0630 had his Incredible catch fire and live to tell the tale. The story goes that Tyler had the device safe in his pocket, but somehow the Incredible managed to slip out and fall right into a beach bonfire without anyone noticing.
