Most of the time we see video out capabilities on a phone, it’s done via HDMI or USB. The Samsung Galaxy S does things a little differently, though, using its 3.5 mm headset jack to output video. The device does so by using a cable going from the phone’s headphone jack to the standard AV settings on the TV. The coolest part? It mirrors everything you do on the phone, making the TV like a second monitor, but for your handset. You can see the functionality demonstrated in the video below, but there is one thing you should know before getting too excited. The video out capability is shown off using the international version of the Galaxy S, and there’s no word on whether or not this functionality will be present in the U.S. Galaxy S.

This 3.5 mm jack video out feature of the Galaxy S is pretty awesome and something we don’t see often on phones. Since it mirrors whatever is on the phone, you could quickly and easily view your photos, videos, apps, or anything else right on your big TV. Now we just have to sit and hope that Samsung will leave the capability in when the Galaxy S comes to the U.S.
