Hello Torch users!
While I was able to ‘back up’ my torch and create a database file to restore my settings and what not to my BB in case I needed to, I still wanted to be able to synchronize my contacts to my “Address Book” on my MacBook Pro. (I got a repetitive and annoying KB19454 error message that wouldn’t give up)
Finally figuring out a way, I found that it is done via bluetooth.

Finally figuring out a way, I found that it is done via bluetooth.
- On your MacBook, make sure your bluetooth is turned on and that your computer is ‘discoverable’ (or so that other devices can see you).
- On you Torch, click your ‘Manage Connections’ icon (or just simply tap the top right of your screen, where the signal displays) and turn on you bluetooth and make sure you are discoverable.
- Select the option to add a new device, and pair your phone with your MacBook (your computer generates the PIN number for you – at least mine did).
- Once paired, your computer should show up on the “Paired Devices” list on your BB.
- Now, simply tap (or scroll down and *click*) to select your computer, and push the option that says transfer contacts.
- This will actually send a .vcf file to your downloads folder. All you do is double click on the .vcf file itself, and “Address Book” will ask you if you want to import your contacts.
That should be it! Now you have the convenience of your contacts on you BB and on your MBP.
May all your future Blackberry encounters be filled with….. Well, not **** because that’s what some of them can be.
Note: I am on operating system 10.5.8.
